A holiday with your dog by the dyke.
One of our twelve apartments welcomes dogs: apartment 10 „Hicko“. All around lie the dyke, the polder and the mudflats - exactly what dogs come to the coast for.
Your dog is welcome in „Hicko“. Dogs are not allowed in the other apartments - partly out of consideration for guests with pet allergies.
Our steps up the dyke are right opposite. From there you can walk for miles along the Wadden Sea.
The farm lies in the middle of a protected area, so dogs must be kept on a lead across the whole site, without exception.
Bensersiel beach has its own section for dogs - about one kilometre away across the dyke. That is where your dog may go into the water.
The apartment comes with a lockable storage room - for wet towels, food, baskets and bicycles.

Frequently asked questions
What we are often asked.
Are dogs allowed in all apartments?
No. Dogs may only come along in apartment 10 „Hicko“. They are not permitted in the other eleven apartments, so guests with allergies can book without worry.
Does my dog have to be on a lead?
Yes. The farm lies within a bird sanctuary, and children play here too. Dogs must be kept on a lead across the whole site.
Can my dog come up on the dyke?
The way up the dyke is right opposite the farm. Sheep graze on the dyke - please keep your dog on a lead there and follow the dyke association's signs.
Where can my dog go on the beach?
Bensersiel has a designated dog beach - about one kilometre from the farm, on foot across the dyke. Your dog may go into the water there. Dogs are not allowed on the rest of the bathing beach, so please follow the signs on site.
How do I book with a dog?
Directly here on the website: on the page for apartment 10 „Hicko" choose your dates and add the dog to your guests. The dog fee of 15 € per night is included in the total price. The booking is handled by our partner Erlebnis Nordsee in Esens.
