Everything for your arrival
Before you arrive
So your holiday starts calmly.
Getting here, keys, parking, dogs: all the answers that matter before your holiday - sorted by topic. For anything still open, we are only a phone call away.
Arrival
Getting here
Before you travel, please look up the exact location of the farm on Google Maps (Westerburer Polder 6, 26553 Dornum, Germany). As we are on a private lane right by the dyke, some sat navs take you a long way round or do not know the address at all.
Parking
To use as little farmland as possible, there is one parking space per apartment. If you have visitors or arrive with a second car, please use the area between the gable and the dyke steps.
Keys & key safe
You collect your keys easily from our key safes. Walking from the car park to the main entrance you will see a row of storerooms on the left. The safes are to the left of the doors. You will find the code in your booking confirmation.
Path up the dyke
The way up the dyke is directly opposite Polder72. Our guests may climb over the fence that keeps the sheep from wandering off.
Booking and payment
Payment
A deposit of 25% is due on booking. The balance is payable up to 4 weeks before arrival.
Cancellation
- Up to 30 days before arrival: €69.90 incl. VAT administration fee. • Up to 14 days before arrival: 50% of the total price plus €69.90 incl. VAT administration fee. • From the 13th day until the day of arrival: 90% of the total plus €69.90 incl. VAT administration fee.
Once we receive your cancellation we will immediately try to find other guests for that period and offset what we earn against the cancellation fee.
We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

Dogs
Your four-legged friend is welcome in apartment 10. In the other apartments dogs are not allowed, partly out of consideration for guests with allergies. POLDER72 lies in the middle of a bird reserve. For that reason, and out of consideration for children playing, dogs must be kept on a lead everywhere on the grounds, without exception. And please: no marking of territory on the farmyard. The surroundings offer plenty of quieter spots for that.
Children
Loud children's laughter is expressly welcome, and we do not want to put limits on their urge to play and explore. Supervision, however, is entirely the responsibility of parents or accompanying adults; we accept no liability. The grounds are unfortunately not entirely free of hazards, such as the surrounding ditches or the barn wing, whose stairs and timber frame invite climbing.
WLAN
The farm has its own Wi-Fi. Because of our remote location we are not connected to a DSL phone line or fibre. Instead we have satellite internet with up to 200 Mbit/s, which is enough for uninterrupted browsing, streaming and working.
The Wi-Fi network is called POLDER72 and the password is UrlaubamDeich.
To connect, you can simply scan the QR code below.
Renting bicycles
At www.rad-haus-esens.de/fahrrad-esens-fahrradverleih-verleih.html you can rent bicycles and accessories. If you order in good time they will be delivered to the farm and collected again. Please keep the bikes in the storeroom belonging to your apartment, not in the Gulf (the barn).
